Privacy policy

First Light Bangkok is a free email newsletter. This page explains what data we hold and why. The short version: we store your email address to send you the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else.

Who is responsible

What we collect and why

• Your email address, when you subscribe. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and Thailand's PDPA). You join the list when you submit the signup form. We store the time and source of your consent, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
• Newsletter statistics such as opens and clicks, collected by our sending provider. We use them only to see whether the newsletter works.
• Standard server logs when you visit this site (IP address, time, page), kept briefly by our hosting provider for security. This site sets no cookies.

Who processes it

• Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Germany) stores the subscriber list and sends the emails, on servers in the EU.
• Vercel hosts this website.

We never sell or share your address with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. Every issue contains a one click unsubscribe link; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. After unsubscribing, your address is kept only on a suppression list so we do not email you again.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data at any time, and you can complain to a supervisory authority. Email hello@firstlightbangkok.com and we will sort it out.
